The calculation for the volume of CO2 produced on your flight is based on a report commissioned from Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute in the UK, a leader in this field.
It surveyed the science regarding aviation's impact on the climate, as well as the assumptions of type of aircraft, number of seats etc.
